Susan Campbell
Susan Campbell is the Call 12 for Action and Target 12 consumer investigator for WPRI 12 and Fox Providence. She joined the Eyewitness News Team in December 2011 as a video journalist.
She has covered several high profile stories for the station, including the Aaron Hernandez murder trial and the capture of Boston Bomber, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Her series of reports on the failed launch of Rhode Island’s $364 million benefits eligibility computer system prompted special legislative hearings and led to the resignations of several senior administrators.
Susan landed her first job in television news as a reporter and producer at WKTV in Utica, N.Y. Before making her move to the East Coast, Susan was also a health reporter and general assignment reporter at WFMJ in Youngstown, Ohio. There she was recognized by the Press Club of Cleveland and the Ohio Associated Press Broadcasters Association for her breaking news coverage of an armed robbery on Christmas Eve and a gas main break that forced the evacuation of dozens of toddlers from a local daycare.
Susan graduated cum laude from Syracuse University with bachelor’s degrees in broadcast journalism, political science and Spanish. As part of her undergraduate studies she spent a semester abroad in Madrid, Spain.
